Closing your account
There are two different exits on Tailore: closing a studio, which winds down your designer business but keeps your account, and deleting your account entirely. This article explains both, and how to download your data first.
Two different things
Pick the one that matches what you want. "Closing a studio never deletes your Tailore account." - and deleting your account is a separate, bigger step with its own page.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Close your studio | Winds down your designer business: listings archived, public page off, no new work. Your Tailore account stays active and you can reopen later. |
| Delete your account | Closes your Tailore account and removes your public presence and personal profile. A limited set of records is kept as described in the [Privacy Policy](/legal/privacy-policy). |
Closing your studio
In your studio settings, open "Studio status" and choose Close studio. The dialog spells out exactly what happens: "Your published listings will be archived, your public studio page will stop working, and you will stop taking new work. Your Tailore account stays active - you can still browse, order as a client, and see all your past projects and payments. You can reopen later, but your listings will need republishing."
You cannot close a studio with loose ends. The dialog lists anything outstanding first, under "Resolve these before closing:":
- Active projects.
- Open cancellation requests.
- Unpaid payment requests.
- Unresolved refunds.
- A negative payout balance.
- Payouts still on the way.

Coming back is built in: Reopen studio brings your studio back, but it stays hidden until you choose to make it public, and your listings stay archived until you republish them - Tailore checks your portfolio and payout setup first.
Deleting your Tailore account
On the Privacy and data page of your account settings, find "Request account deletion": "Ask us to close your Tailore account and remove your public presence and personal profile. We keep a limited set of payment, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, security and legal records for the periods described in our Privacy Policy." It also warns: "If you run a studio, close it first. Projects, messages and payment history stay with the people you worked with - those records are theirs too."
The confirmation dialog asks for your password (or a fresh Google consent) and explains the outcome: your name, email, and photo are removed. If your account has no payment history, you are signed out immediately and cannot sign back in. If it does have payment history, the request is recorded and reviewed by hand, and your account keeps working until the review is done.
Studios must close first
A studio blocks deletion: "Close your studio before deleting your Tailore account." Work through the studio closing steps above, then come back.
Download your data first
The same Privacy and data page has "Download my data". Press Prepare my data, wait for "Your data is ready.", then use Download the file - "This link expires shortly for your safety. Prepare a new one any time." The export covers your profile, preferences, the projects you are part of, message transcripts, payment receipts, and reviews you wrote. It does not include other people's private notes or reviews about you.
For privacy requests the page cannot handle on its own, write to privacy@tailore.fashion.
