Final payments and payout timing
The remaining balance must be requested and settled through Tailore before a project can close, and payouts then follow your Stripe schedule. Here is the path from final payment to your bank.
The outstanding balance
A project's money math is simple: the approved total minus what has settled. While anything remains unpaid, the project's forward gates show one prescribed sentence. You collect the rest with Request final balance on the payment schedule - see Platform fees and installment plans for how requests work.
The blocker sentence.
Wherever unpaid money blocks progress you will see: "{amount} remains unpaid. Request and receive the remaining balance through Tailore before moving the project forward." There is no off-platform "mark as paid" - the balance must settle through Tailore.
Delivery and completion gates
When your schedule stages all money before handover, delivery is blocked until it settles: "The agreed payment for this project hasn't been settled yet." followed by the blocker sentence. Completion has its own gate - "This project isn't ready to be completed yet." - with a sentence for whichever blocker applies, unpaid money among them.
Completion itself is a two-party handshake: you mark the work complete, then the client confirms completion. You can reopen the project if something still needs doing. The full lifecycle is covered in How projects work on Tailore.
Where your money is on Stripe's side
The Payouts tab on your earnings page is, in its own words, "Where your money is on Stripe's side. A payout moves money you have already earned - it never creates earnings." It shows two balances: Pending balance ("Earned money still becoming available through Stripe") and Available for payout ("Eligible to be sent to your bank"). Recent payouts lists "Money Stripe actually sent to your bank."
Before your first payout it reads: "No payouts yet. Your first payout is sent automatically once funds become available."
Payout timing
Your payout schedule - manual, daily, weekly, or monthly - is read from your connected Stripe account and shown in your payout status line. See Connecting your payout account for setup and status.
No promised arrival times.
"A displayed payout date is an estimate. Stripe or Tailore may delay a payout for verification, fraud prevention, legal process, suspected policy violations, negative balances, disputes, refunds, chargebacks, or other legitimate risk-management reasons." - Payment Policy.
If a payout fails.
The Payouts tab shows A payout failed with a Manage payout account button. Fix your bank details from there - usually that is what needs attention.
Common questions
No. There is no off-platform "mark as paid" - the remaining balance must be requested and settled through Tailore before the project can move forward.
Tailore does not promise a time. Settled money moves from pending to available on Stripe's side, then a payout is sent on your schedule. Any displayed date is an estimate.
No. Your connected account receives each payment net of the platform fee, and a payout only moves money you have already earned. See Platform fees and installment plans.
