Keeping communication on Tailore
Why your project record belongs on Tailore, what the Terms actually restrict, and the off-platform contact that is perfectly fine for fittings, production, and shipping.
Your record is your protection
If a disagreement ever comes up, Tailore may consider messages, files, approvals, measurements, and photos on the project when helping resolve it. For a client, that record shows what you approved and what you paid for. For a designer, it shows what was agreed, what changed, and what you delivered.
A conversation that happened over text messages, or a payment that happened in cash, leaves nothing for anyone to consider. Keeping the project on Tailore is not a formality - it is the evidence that backs you up.
The non-circumvention rule, in plain terms
The Terms of Service say users may not use Tailore to identify or begin a relationship and then move the same or a substantially related project off-platform to avoid fees, payment controls, or marketplace protections. In practice: if you met through Tailore, the project you discussed stays on Tailore.
How long, and who is exempt
The restriction applies during the Tailore relationship and for 12 months after the most recent Tailore inquiry, project, or transaction between the two of you. It does not apply to a documented pre-existing business relationship that began independently before you connected through Tailore.
What is completely fine
The rule does not trap you inside the app. You can communicate or meet off-platform when needed for fittings, production, or shipping, provided the Tailore-sourced project and payments remain properly recorded on Tailore. Calling a client to confirm a fitting time, or a designer texting a shipping update, is normal.
Designers can also record walk-in or internal projects on Tailore as a private record of independent work - those clients never came through Tailore, and nothing about them is restricted. See Bringing an existing client to Tailore.
When the pressure goes the wrong way
If a designer asks a client to pay by bank transfer, cash, or any channel outside Tailore - or a client offers to - report it with the Scam or fraud reason, which explicitly covers a request to pay outside Tailore. If someone keeps pushing the conversation itself off Tailore, the Spam reason covers that. Reporting a problem shows where each button lives.
Circumvention has real consequences: Tailore may suspend accounts, recover avoided fees, or take other lawful action.
Common questions
Yes. Off-platform contact for fittings, production, and shipping is allowed - the project itself and its payments stay recorded on Tailore.
Not if you met through Tailore. The restriction runs for 12 months after your most recent Tailore inquiry, project, or transaction together.
No. A documented pre-existing business relationship that began independently before you connected through Tailore is exempt. Designers can still record that work on Tailore as an internal project if they want one place for everything.
Decline and keep the payment on Tailore, and report the request with the Scam or fraud reason if it continues. The money gates will not let the project reach delivery or completion with an unpaid Tailore balance anyway.
