Reporting a problem

Where each report button lives, what the report reasons mean, what happens after you send one, and when to use the project workspace's Report an issue tool instead.

Four places you can report from

Reports live next to the thing you are reporting. There are four in-product paths:

  1. Report a message

Use the flag icon on the message and choose Report this message. The dialog explains: "Tell us what is wrong with this message. We keep a copy of it as it is now, so it still reaches our team even if it is edited or deleted."

  2. Report an account

In a conversation, choose Report {name} (with the person's name). The dialog notes that reports are private - the person you are reporting is not told who reported them.

  3. Report a listing

On the listing page, choose Report this listing. A listing report opens a case on the studio behind it.

  4. Report a review

From your account's reputation card, choose Report review to open the Report a review dialog.

Choosing a reason

Every report asks you to pick one of eight reasons:

  • Harassment or threats
  • Discrimination
  • Scam or fraud
  • Spam
  • Explicit content
  • Stolen work
  • Shares personal information
  • Something else

Two are broader than they sound: Scam or fraud covers impersonation or a request to pay outside Tailore, and Spam covers unsolicited promotion or pushing the conversation off Tailore. You can add context in Anything else? (optional) - up to 2,000 characters - then choose Send report (or Cancel).

What happens after you send

You will see a "Report sent" confirmation: "Thanks - your report is on file and our team will look at it. We'll be in touch through your account if we need anything else." Every report opens a case for human review - a person on our team reads every report, and nothing is hidden automatically by software.

Private in, private out

The person or studio you report is never told who reported them. In the other direction, Tailore does not report back on outcomes - you get a receipt that your report is on file, not a verdict. If you try to report the same thing twice, you will see: "You have already reported this. It is on file with our team."

Project problems have their own tool

A problem with an active project - quality, dates, a disputed charge - belongs in Report an issue in the project workspace, not in a conduct report. The dialog is direct about what it does: "This pauses completion, delivery updates and new payment requests until it's resolved. Everything on the project is kept." Pick a category - Quality ("The piece isn't as agreed."), Fit ("Sizing or fit is wrong."), Timing ("Dates have slipped."), Not received ("It hasn't arrived."), Payment ("A charge or refund is disputed."), Communication ("I can't reach the other party."), or Something else - describe it under What happened?, and choose Report issue.

Both sides then see a banner ("You reported an issue" or "An issue was reported on this project") while the issue moves through its statuses: Open, Under Tailore review, Resolved, or Withdrawn. Either party can Resolve it with a required note - "This is recorded on the project permanently." - but only the reporter can Withdraw, and once an issue is under Tailore review neither side can resolve it. Clients have a walkthrough at Reporting a project issue; if the issue ends in cancelling, see Cancellation and refund policy.

Feedback and everything else

The Share feedback dialog in your studio sidebar is not a report - it sends product feedback about Tailore itself to the Tailore team. It is private: never published and never shown to your clients.

For anything that does not fit an in-product button, contact support. Include the relevant profile, listing, message, project, or review and a clear explanation - and never submit complete payment credentials or unrelated sensitive information.
