Paying a consultation fee
Consultations booked through Tailore are appointments, not purchases - there is no consultation fee to pay. This article explains how consultations work and where money actually changes hands on Tailore.
The short answer
Tailore does not collect consultation fees. Booking a consultation with a studio on Tailore is scheduling an appointment, not making a purchase - there is no payment step, and nothing is charged when you book or attend one.
Nothing to pay at booking
If you were looking for where to pay a consultation fee on Tailore, there is nowhere to pay one. Consultation bookings carry no payment at all.
How consultations work on Tailore
Appointments on Tailore come in three types: consultation, fitting, and pickup. A consultation defaults to 45 minutes and typically happens early, before the studio has sent you any proposal - it is where you and the studio talk through the piece you have in mind.
For how booking fits into the wider journey from inquiry to finished piece, see How Tailore works for clients.
If a studio charges for consultations
Some studios charge for consultation or design time as their own business practice. Any such arrangement is outside Tailore: Tailore does not collect, track, refund, or mediate consultation charges. The Payment Policy puts it this way: "A separately purchased consultation, sketch, or design service may have its own clearly disclosed terms."
Ask for the terms in writing
If a studio asks you to pay for a consultation, that payment does not go through Tailore, so make sure its terms are clearly disclosed to you before you agree. Tailore cannot refund money it never collected.
What you do pay through Tailore
Money changes hands on Tailore once a project is real: after you approve a studio's proposal, you pay the payment schedule you agreed to, starting with the deposit, inside the project page. See Paying a project deposit for how that works.
No. Appointments of every type - consultation, fitting, and pickup - are bookings only. No payment is attached to them.
No. Tailore has no way to take a consultation payment. If you choose to pay a studio for consultation or design time, that arrangement is between you and the studio, outside Tailore.
After you approve a proposal. Approving it creates the first payment request - the deposit - which you pay inside the project page. See Reviewing a proposal.
