Verifying your account
Tailore verification is about proving you own your contact details - your email address and, for studios, your mobile number. This article covers how each one works, and where identity checks actually happen.
What verification covers
Tailore verifies contact ownership: that you control the email address on your account and, if you run a studio, the mobile number your studio can be reached on. There is no Tailore identity check, no document upload, and no public verified badge on your profile. Identity and business verification happen only inside Stripe payout onboarding - more on that below.
Nothing is required yet
Neither confirmation is currently required to use Tailore, and the product says exactly when that will change. Email: "Confirming your email isn't required yet. When it is, you'll need it to send an inquiry, message a studio, or pay." Phone: "Verifying your number isn't required yet. When it is, you'll need it to make your studio public or invite an existing client."
Confirming your email address
Open your account settings and find the Email address card. It tells you where you stand: either your address "is confirmed." or it "hasn't been confirmed yet."
When confirmation mail is going out, the card reads "We sent a confirmation link to" your address and notes "The link is good for 24 hours." If the email never arrives, use Resend email on the same card.
Signing in with Google confirms your address automatically - Google has already proven you own it, so there is nothing extra to do.
Verifying your mobile number (studios)
Your mobile number lives in your studio settings under "Contact and verification" - "How Tailore reaches your studio. Neither of these is shown on your public profile." The number is always shown masked.
Enter your number
Add your mobile number in the "Contact and verification" section of your studio settings, in the Mobile number card.
Press **Send code**
Tailore texts you a short code: "We texted a" multi-digit code to your masked number, and "It expires in 10 minutes."
Enter the code and press **Verify number**
Type the code into the "Verification code" field and confirm. That is the whole check.
Changing the number resets verification
Saving a different number undoes the check: "Number updated. It will need verifying again." Re-run Send code and Verify number for the new number.
Identity checks and payouts
Identity and business verification happen only inside Stripe payout onboarding - Stripe collects whatever documents it needs, and Tailore never sees or asks for them. Inside Tailore you only see a status, for example "Your payment information is being reviewed - this updates automatically when you come back here." Connecting your payout account covers the full flow.
Common questions
No. Verification is between you and Tailore - nothing about it appears on your public studio page.
No. The "Contact and verification" section says it plainly: neither your business email nor your mobile number is shown on your public profile, and the number is always masked even to you.
Today, nothing - no part of Tailore requires it yet. When that changes, email confirmation will gate sending an inquiry, messaging a studio, or paying, and phone verification will gate making your studio public or inviting an existing client.
