Creating your Tailore Studio
Designer onboarding is a six-step wizard that ends with your Studio created. This walkthrough covers what each step asks for, what stays private, and the one choice that is hard to change later.
Before you start
Signed in, select Create studio from your account page, or use the Create your studio button on For designers. Every field can be revisited within the wizard before you submit, and most Studio details stay editable afterward from your dashboard.
Tailore accounts are for adults.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to create a Tailore account or transact through it. The full rule is in the Terms of Service.
The six steps
Tell us about your studio
Enter your brand or studio name, your first and last name (kept private), and a business email. A business phone number is optional and marked "Private. Never shown publicly." You also pick the country you are legally based in for payments - it later creates your payout account and cannot be changed once payouts are connected. Tailore auto-suggests a Studio URL handle (3-30 characters: lowercase letters, digits and hyphens), which you can edit here.
What location should clients see?
Set the public city, region and country shown on your Studio profile. A street address is optional and never public. Then choose how clients receive your work - Domestic shipping, International shipping, or Local pickup - and pick at least one.
What do you create?
Choose up to 8 specialties; selecting Other reveals an Other specialties field for up to 3 comma-separated entries. Then pick 1-2 work types: Custom ("Designed from scratch or heavily customized for each client.") or Made-to-order ("Your existing designs, made after the client places an order."). A typical starting price is required.
What services do you offer?
Pick from the ten services - design consultation, fabric and material sourcing, pattern making, measurement guidance, fittings, alterations, embroidery and embellishment, garment construction, styling and accessory sourcing, or Other. At least one is required. As the step says: "Select all that apply. You can update these anytime."
Show your work
Upload up to 10 portfolio images - the first becomes your cover - and write your Studio bio (required, up to 300 characters). There is no minimum photo count to finish this step, but at least 3 photos are needed later before your Studio can appear in public discovery.
Review and create your studio
Check the details clients will see, then select Create studio. Your Studio is created immediately and you land on its dashboard.

What happens after you create it
New Studios start as "Direct link only": anyone with your Studio link can view it, but it does not appear in search or discovery until you finish payout setup and switch visibility to Public. Your first steps after onboarding covers the activation checklist waiting on your dashboard.
FAQs
Handle changes are not available after setup yet, so review the suggested handle carefully - the wizard is the place to edit it.
The country you are legally based in for payments freezes once your payout account is connected, so pick it carefully. If you are stuck with the wrong one, contact support.
No. You can create your Studio without any photos, but at least 3 are required before it can go public and appear in discovery. Most studios add them during onboarding.
