Community Standards and Prohibited Items Policy
Version 1.1 - last updated August 29, 2026
Tailore is built for respectful collaboration between Clients and independent fashion Studios. These Standards explain the content, conduct, services, and items that are not allowed. They form part of the Tailore Terms of Service and Designer Agreement.
These Standards apply to profiles, listings, portfolios, inquiries, messages, files, project workspaces, reviews, payments, packaging, in-person interactions arranged through Tailore, and other use of the Service.
1. Be honest and professional
Users must accurately represent their identity, business, skills, location, work, availability, pricing, materials, timelines, and project status. Do not impersonate another person or business, falsify credentials, misrepresent handmade or original work, or hide information that would materially affect a project.
Studios must use their own work or content they have permission to use. Clients must provide truthful project information, measurements, payment information, and reasons for disputes or cancellations.
2. Respectful communication
Tailore does not allow harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, humiliation, coercion, sexual harassment, or repeated unwanted contact. Disagreement about design, fit, price, or a project outcome does not justify abuse.
Do not use slurs, demeaning stereotypes, or content that attacks or excludes a person based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, age, caste, veteran status, or another protected characteristic.
Tailore may restrict content that glorifies or meaningfully supports hate organizations, targeted violence, terrorism, or exploitation, even if it is presented through a design or garment.
3. No fraud, scams, or deceptive activity
Prohibited activity includes:
- stolen payment methods, account takeovers, identity fraud, or false verification information;
- fabricated listings, projects, shipping records, receipts, approvals, disputes, or reviews;
- bait-and-switch pricing, hidden fees, false scarcity, or false claims about materials, origin, craftsmanship, or delivery;
- requesting payment for work a Studio does not reasonably intend or have the ability to perform;
- knowingly filing a false refund, non-delivery, chargeback, or carrier claim;
- manipulating transactions, referrals, promotions, or marketplace metrics; and
- money laundering, sanctions evasion, or using a project primarily to transfer funds rather than obtain lawful fashion goods or services.
4. Authenticity, counterfeits, and copied work
Tailore does not allow counterfeit goods, unauthorized branded replicas, fake labels, or services intended to deceive buyers about a product's brand, origin, or authenticity.
Users may use inspiration responsibly, but may not copy protected artwork, prints, logos, patterns, photographs, or distinctive designs in a manner that infringes another person's rights. A request to make an item "exactly like" a protected design does not create permission.
Studios must not present mass-produced, outsourced, or third-party work as their own custom or handmade work without clear disclosure.
5. Prohibited and restricted items
Tailore may remove or prohibit listings, requests, or projects involving:
- illegal goods or services;
- stolen property or materials;
- counterfeit or unauthorized branded goods;
- recalled, unsafe, contaminated, or unlawfully labeled products;
- weapons, explosives, or items primarily intended to cause harm;
- illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia;
- hazardous chemicals or materials that cannot be lawfully or safely produced or shipped;
- protected wildlife products, endangered species materials, or other environmental contraband;
- goods produced through forced labor, trafficking, or unlawful child labor;
- sexually exploitative content, non-consensual intimate content, or content involving the sexualization or exploitation of minors;
- items or services that violate sanctions, export controls, customs rules, or carrier restrictions; or
- any other item Tailore reasonably determines creates an unacceptable legal, safety, fraud, or reputational risk.
A lawful material may still require disclosure, documentation, special handling, age verification, or shipping restrictions. Studios are responsible for understanding the laws that apply to their materials and destination countries.
6. Safety and in-person activity
Tailore does not control private studios, fitting locations, pickup points, or other in-person locations. Users who arrange an in-person fitting, measurement, pickup, or meeting should use reasonable safety precautions, meet in an appropriate professional or public setting, tell a trusted person, protect valuables, and leave if they feel unsafe.
Do not pressure a user to meet privately, share a home address prematurely, or engage in physical contact unrelated to a fitting. Consent is required for measurements, fittings, photography, recording, and the presence of additional people.
Emergencies should be reported to local emergency services. Tailore support is not an emergency service.
7. Privacy and personal information
Do not publish or misuse another person's home address, government identifier, financial information, private messages, measurements, private photographs, or other sensitive information. Share only information reasonably necessary for a project and use it only for the project, support, safety, or another authorized purpose.
Users may not scrape the Service, build unauthorized contact lists, sell user data, or use Tailore information for spam or unrelated marketing.
8. Spam, manipulation, and platform abuse
Do not send unsolicited bulk messages, repetitive promotions, phishing links, malware, misleading redirects, or irrelevant content. Do not interfere with security, probe systems without authorization, create excessive accounts, automate access contrary to Tailore's instructions, or disrupt the Service.
Users may not coordinate fake favorites, inquiries, sales, reviews, or engagement. Reviews and referrals must reflect genuine activity.
9. Off-platform circumvention
Users may not use Tailore to discover or begin a project and then move the transaction off-platform primarily to avoid Tailore fees, payment rules, or protections. Users may exchange information reasonably needed to complete an accepted project, but may not pressure another user to pay outside Tailore or hide a Tailore-sourced transaction.
Pre-existing relationships and transactions not sourced through Tailore are not automatically covered, but users must not misrepresent them to manipulate fees or metrics.
10. Reviews, reports, and retaliation
Reviews and reports must be truthful and based on genuine experience. Do not threaten a negative review to obtain money, free work, or unrelated concessions. Do not offer compensation conditioned on a positive or negative review.
Retaliation against a person for making a good-faith report, requesting a refund, exercising a legal right, or participating in an investigation is prohibited.
11. Content involving minors
Tailore accounts and transactions are for adults. An adult may order clothing for a minor, but must protect the minor's privacy and safety. Do not publish a minor's contact information, school, precise location, or unnecessarily revealing photographs. Content that exploits, sexualizes, endangers, or depicts abuse of a minor is prohibited and may be reported to authorities.
12. Intellectual property and confidentiality
Follow the Tailore Intellectual Property and DMCA Policy. Private sketches, measurements, photographs, messages, files, and project details must not be published or reused outside the project without permission or another lawful basis.
13. Reporting a violation
Use Tailore's report tools or contact hello@tailore.fashion. Include the relevant profile, listing, message, project, or review and a clear explanation. Do not submit complete payment credentials or unrelated sensitive information.
Tailore may preserve evidence, request additional information, restrict contact, remove content, suspend transactions, or refer a matter to a payment provider, carrier, platform, regulator, or law-enforcement authority where appropriate.
14. Enforcement
Tailore may warn a user, remove or reduce visibility of content, cancel or restrict features, pause payouts where permitted, require verification or corrective action, suspend or close an account, or take another proportionate step.
We consider severity, intent, repetition, risk, history, cooperation, legal obligations, and impact on users. Serious conduct may result in immediate action without a prior warning.
Tailore may make mistakes. If an appeal process is available, the notice will explain how to submit relevant information. An appeal does not guarantee reversal.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these Standards as the marketplace, risks, and law change. Material changes will receive notice when required.
